“Story of brainfree carpet”

“Ajuva(i)ba lugu”

2025

This true story tells of a long-ago time of brainlessness and its brainlessness customs.

Once upon a time, there lived a neighbor named Eha. In those strange times long ago, it was customary to secretly “put aside” things from your workplace whenever possible, or to steal, as we understand it today. This was not considered particularly bad, because many people did it. Our neighbor “put aside” bed sheets, brand new ones, made of cotton, with identical pink stripes and stamps from her workplace. She did this for years and years, until one fine day she died and never got to use those sheets… In some brainlesness way, they ended up in the hands of our family, because the neighbor herself had no family or children. And as long as we are still alive, we can all rack our brains over what to do with these senseless sheets, because no one will ever be able to use them in their lifetime.

As a symbol of this historical brainlessness, I made a small piece of brain carpet, using the same bed sheets that had been lying around for decades. While creating it, it was interesting to reflect on such brainless times and customs.
